Can my child start mid way through the term?
Yes, as there is no competition between children and the classes are of mixed ages and ability. We gladly take children throughout the term, providing we have space in the class.
How many lessons does it take for a child to become proficient at touch-typing?
Please be mindful that all children are individual. Our experience tells us that it takes about 30-40 hours for a child to become proficient at touch-typing with accuracy. We do not encourage speed until the child is in the final module or finished the program.
Touch-typing is like learning a musical instrument, it is a brand new skill and to become good at it, it takes time.
Does my child need to bring their own laptop to the lesson?
This really depends on the facilities at each school. At most schools, the PCs or laptops are provided. Please contact us to find out about your particular school.
What happens if my child is sick and cannot make the lesson?
Please notify us by sms as soon as you can, so that the tutor is not expecting your child to attend. If we run more than one lesson at your school, we do offer the opportunity to do a makeup lesson within the term that the absence occurred. This must be organised by contacting us in advance, as some classes do not have the space to take makeup lessons. One makeup lesson per term.
What abilities do you cater for?
If your child has special needs please contact us to discuss them. We have worked with some children with special needs, but this must be discussed prior to enrolment.
Is there homework?
No, we need to monitor the children, closely in the lesson to learn Touch-typing correctly, so we do not set homework.
What are the lesson times?
This is dependent on each school, so please contact us for more specific details of your school lesson times.
Will you come to our school to run this program?
Our aim is to teach all Primary School children how to touch-type prior to going into High School. We are always looking for opportunities to expand our program and offer more parents this opportunity. Contact us by email and give us your details and we will discuss it with you and your school.
